Dr. Ing. Thomas Budiarto, S.T., M.T.

Thomas holds a Doctoral Degree in Energy and Process Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, where he successfully defended his dissertation on modeling process dynamics in membrane-electrolyte assemblies of chloralkali electrolyzers. With extensive experience in sustainability, energy management, and process engineering, he has contributed to projects across academia, industry, and government.

Currently, Thomas is a Researcher and Lecturer at the Energy Management Laboratory, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), where he lectures and leads projects on smart battery management systems, grid-scale energy storage, and EV charging ecosystems. He has also served as a consultant for the Asian Development Bank, mapping battery value chain capabilities in Indonesia and Australia while identifying opportunities for bilateral partnerships. His expertise spans energy policy, hydrogen energy conversion, decarbonization strategies, and industrial energy efficiency.

A frequent speaker at public and private institutions, including ITB, TU-Berlin, and corporate sustainability workshops, Thomas has contributed to techno-economic assessments, renewable energy integration, and process optimization. He has published multiple papers in international conferences and journals.

Drawing from his experience as a professional energy auditor and industrial energy manager, Thomas continues to drive innovation in sustainable energy solutions. His work bridges research, policy, and industry, contributing to Indonesia’s green energy transition.
